Yahoo Clubs
From: Thalia Sent: 13 April 2001 Message 1 of 9
I've lurked here for quite awhile, but never posted. (Cindy, you're great & I understand your recent decisions.) Anyway, Yahoo just pulled out of the sale of porn & that prompted me to edit my Yahoo clubs list. You can remove clubs, but you cannot do a search. Their site says that they "are temporarily down for maintenace". Hah. My advice, if anyone has stuff in a Yahoo club they'd like to keep, they better start preserving it on their hard drives, because it son't won't be available. It's going the way of Excite.
Personal note: husband & I have been together for many years (27!) and with the addition of fisting activity (used judiciously), I just got my hood pierced, (which is fabulous) our sex live rocks! (Possibly the fact that our kids are grown & moved out & we have glorious privacy.) A whole lot of this great sex is attributable to this website, also. I hope you find a way to maintain it. Cindy & Joe & Zappaz have informed (and excited) more people than they can possibly know. Thanks from us!

What can't you edit after you've posted and actually see what it looks like? The word (?) son't in the above post should be soon.

Dear Thalia,
> Cindy, you're great...
Thanks. Actually, I'm just "doing what comes naturally" :-)
> I understand your recent decisions.
If you mean stopping making new pictures, there's been sufficient positive feedback that Joe and I have reconsidered. In fact, Joe is presently bidding on a certain item on eBay that we hope to use as a prop in our next little comic strip story. But it probably won't be made until the end of next month.
> Yahoo just pulled out of the sale of porn...
Could you please provide us with more precise information? We're very interested in any indications that attitudes may be changing such that MSN might also follow suit.
> husband & I have been together for many years (27!)
Wow, congratulations. Must be heaven!
> I just got my hood pierced, (which is fabulous) our sex live rocks!
Congratulations again. Joe still thinks I should have another piercing or two, but I think four is enough. Besides, the female piercer who did my four piercings has retired :-(
> Thanks from us!
You're welcome. From Zappaz too, I'm sure.
> Why can't you edit after you've posted
Sorry, that's the way MSN Communities is. We can't change things like that.
Love,
Cindy

Dear Cindy,
Love this site!
Recently saw an article on MSN about Yahoo having pulled out of the sale of porn:
http://www.msnbc.com/news/557911.asp
I remember stopping to carefully read what it said and I noted that it said "the sale of porn", the key word, I suppose, being "sale", and the fact that MSN had already done it. Since this site is not being "sold" nor must we pay for our memberships, I'm sure hoping that MSN is not considering shutting down most of the MSN communities I belong to!
Considering the membership of such MSN communities, I think that should be telling MSN something!

When you do a search on Yahoo in the Clubs Area, in Romance, there is no lomger a listing for anything Adult, much the less sexual in nature. You can still edit your clubs, look at them, but I received several pleas from Yahoo club webmasters to join in on signing their petitions and requesting that Yahoo not close these adult areas done. If you don't aalready have access to the Yahoo Adult Clubs, you definitely cannot get it now. So, if there's anything you want to save, pop it onto free drive, your own hard drive, wherever. Yahoo Adult Clubs are going the way of the dinosaur, thanks to our lovely consercative government in the US.
The following is the text of a petition request I reeived today, from the Boys Fisting Girls Club on Yahoo:
Dont let "Yahoo" Close The Adult Clubs!!!
"[April 13, 2001] After facing an outcry from conservative groups and skeptical
analysts, Yahoo! said it would remove adult-related material from its commerce
channels."
Pleae join the protest-club: "dont close adult clubs":
so Yahoo will see our protest.

Please send this email message to anyone you know!!!
if you are Club founder: send this e-mail to your club members-today!
Thanks you all.

damn, I can't type!
From: zappaz1 Sent: 17 April 2001 Message 7 of 9
Thalia, thanks for the kind words above.
I also belong to Yahoo as zappaz_1@yahoo.com and hope they continue to allow adult material without censorship. I just started up my new computer and tried to reload the Yahoo Messenger last night. After many attempts, it would not download... even though I have DSL. I also hope they are not removing that service.
If they wish, Club members here may add me to their "friends list" on Yahoo Messenger (should I ever download it(((! LOL

That is really strange about Yahoo for I heard on the radio last week that Yahoo was going to sell "Porn" video's! Now you tell me what is going on with that?

Public outcry is what happened. They've been selling porn all along, but they just happened to mention it in a press announcement and the conservatives went nuts.
