Message:
PC attacks?
From: cumberlandman Sent: 5 July 2005 Message 1 of 7
every time I try to enter Cindy and Joe's my Norton security blocks it out with a warning that it has blocked an attack on my pc
From: Joe Sent: 5 July 2005 Message 2 of 7
Funny coincidence, I use Norten Internet Security too, and I started having the same symptoms a couple of months ago. For me it happens for all MSN groups, not just Cindy and Joe, and it happens when I try to look at a picture album. It also happens for general groups (not adult-rated) so it doesn't seem to have anything to do with protecting children from seeing adult pictures.
Here's a "solution" (or work-around) that works for me:
Open up Norton Internet Security: Start - Programs - Norton Internet Security - Norton Internet Security.
Click on Personal Firewall.
Click on Configure.
Click on the Network tab.
With the Trusted tab active, click on Add.
With Individual selected, enter "groups.msn.com" (without the quotation marks (")) and click on OK.
Click on OK, and close the Norton Internet Security window.
That should do it.

hi, yeah it has been doing the same to me. They just came out with a new trusted aplications list today, July 5th. Run live update today and this should resolve your problem.

I use Firefox Browser, and have no problems.

This problem is (or was?) related to the use of Norton Internet Security, and is independent of the browser. I tried Firefox too, and it didn't work either as long as Norton was enabled.

yep, the solution Joe recommended should resolve the issue. I had to do the same thing. It fixed the issue. For some reason when I updated the other day the groups worked. Then later they quite working. Again giving false security blocks. I then added groups.msn.com to my trusted sites as joe stated and it resolved my issue.

i myself had the same problem but it seems that NIS fixed itself for me. its
weird that we both have the same program.
