hi ,
we just tried to access the ftp server that you so gratiously have for us to view. our user names have been verified but the site asks for a password. did we miss something? everything we have read at your sites talks about verification of user names from your community but can't seem to find anything about the need to create a password. please help. and thanks, we love your efforts and rabette REALLY gets into it.

You should not have to enter a password for the FTP site. The web-based validation software that Bill Baroud kindly developed to process access requests should automatically provide the FTP server with the password that is associated with your user-ID.

I'm wondering if you're using a very old web browser? Things should work OK with the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape.

Hmm, I just tested it myself, and I'm guessing now that the problem is the ampersand character ("&") in your nickname. Please try changing your nickname here at "Cindy and Joe" to something without any ampersand, then re-submit that new nickname for validation at the FTP server, and then come back 24 hours later and see if that works. Sorry.

I just verified in the user list, and you effetively are refernced as "rabidandrabette".
I tried, and successfully get in the server. I'm planning an update of these page, to allow auto-filling of the username if you already gave it. It will make things easier.

First of all, i would like to thank joe and cindy for this site, it is just awesome, it´s just what i needed to talk my girlfriend into fisting. Second, i would like to thank bill baroud for the FTP space he's providing. But this message is in truth to tell that i'm not able to get to the FTP server, i think it's a password problem since it keeps poping the window with the logon and password fields. I've seen the numeric password and I typed it right (copy and paste actually) but i can't seem to get access to the server, could you please take a look at that?

You're right, there does seem to be a problem with Bill's FTP server right now. I'll send him an e-mail, or maybe he'll see this message. Hopefully he isn't away for the Easter holidays now. (In Denmark and some other European countries we have from Thursday to Monday, both days inclusive, as Easter holidays.)

Yep, my fault, sorry.
I've slightly modified config of the authentication server, for security reasons. The ftp server was unable to access him.
Everything is back to the normal, and will (hopefully) stay.

It's now been determined that not only ampersand (&) but many other special characters that are allowed in MSN nicknames can not be allowed in usernames on the FTP server. The only "solution" to this problem is that if your nickname here at "Cindy and Joe" contains these special characters then you'll have to change it before attempting to gain access to Bill Baroud's FTP server. This has been noted in the instructions about how to access the FTP server.
