Question about i-drive movies?
From: Mr_cool Sent: 06 Dec. 2000 Message 1 of 4
Hey Joe, do you know if there is a way to send the movies from your i-drive account to another Ii-drive acount? I' asking because everytime I go to view the movies, they say that the movies have been viewed to much and to try again later. I thought that maybe if the movies could be download to my i-drive that it would solve this problem for me.

That's good that it can be done, but how do I do it? I'm a new i-drive user and I can't figure out how to download the videos. Can anyone give me some help? Also, can other videos from the CindyandJoe website be downloaded to an i-drive account? If so, how is it done?

Randman,
Thanks for the idea. This should allow everyone to get around the i-drive limitation on maximum downloads per day.
Mr_cool,

RTFM (Read The Fine Manual), or in this case, the Help pages :-)
Here's what it says on the i-drive Help pages:
"Take
If you're visiting a friend's i-drive you have the ability to 'Take' files or folders from their i-drive to yours. To 'Take' a file from a friend's i-drive, follow the steps below.
1. Visit a friend's i-drive.
2. Find the file or files you want to 'Take' to your i-drive.
3. Click on the box to the left of the files you wish to 'Take'.
4. Click 'Take'.
5. You will now see a box on the right with a pull-down menu. Use the pull-down menu to choose the folder to which you want to 'Take' the file.
6. Click 'Take'.
7. To find these files, return to your i-drive and check the folder you designated in step five.
Note: You must have the proper access to 'Take' a file from a friend's i-drive. If you are asked for a password that you don't know, please consult your friend."
So what you should do is to create your own i-drive, and then visit the CindyAndJoe i-drive and "take" the files (or maybe even the whole folder - I haven't tested that) over to your own i-drive. Then you can download the files from your own i-drive to your PC.
> Also, can other videos from the CindyandJoe website be downloaded to an i-drive account?
I suppose so, but I must admint that I don't intend to do it myself. Many of these video clips I can't download myself, and because I have a fairly slow connection it would take me too long to copy them to i-drive even if I could download them. Also, I consider the use of i-drive to be a temporary solution - surely MSN will fix the download problem sooner or later.
However, if someone else who has a fast connection and can download the video clips here wants to create an i-drive for them then please do so.
Joe
