Cindy & Joe,
Not sure if you're aware of the problems with your visitor counter? Many times when I come to the club, the loading of the main page gets snagged and stalls out on your counter. If it's a free counter, consider finding a new one somewhere? I believe sexcites.com and some other places give free counters for adult sites, that are more reliably UP. :)

The fact that the display of the counter takes a long time doesn't need to be a problem. You don't have to wait for it - just click on one of the links on the left and off you go to wherever you want to go.

I'll take a look at alternatives.

Joe,
It kind of beats the purpose of the counter if it's not loading, it isn't counting accurately either. I used to use sexhound.com I believe it was, they had a good reliable free counter. For an even better one at $5 a month you can get full stats using hitometer from webgarage.com .

Hello,

I just wanted to voice that I am also having problems with the counter here. I have tried using Netscape 4.72, IE 5.01, and Netscape 6, all of which refuse to load the counter. It loads the rest of the page just fine, but my browsers just freeze when trying to load the counter. I just click on stop and then continue on with the club, but its an inconvenience some may not know how to deal with.

Hitometer is now free, even the upgrade versions, and there are dozens of other counters out there.

Not trying to make more work for you guys, cindy and joe, just letting you know whats happening. Love the club!

One reason there may be fewer visitors to this club is that when you try to load, the loading "hangs" on the counter and nothing comes up until you hit "stop loading".

Well, you guys, Joe will be back from his trip to the wilds of Australia in about a week, so hopefully he'll put the counter in its place when he comes home :-)

Seriously though, the company who provided the counter has been bought up, and the new owners do not seem to be interested in maintaining it properly (or so Joe tells me). I'm afraid I know next to nothing about these matters or how to fix them.

Hope he can fix it.

Many of those who try to enter the club... and then find it hangs on the counter without anything showing will leave.

They may not know that the menu would appear ... if they just hit the "stop loading" button.

It hung today but then finally loaded so maybe it's fixed itself, or maybe I just got lucky today, LOL

I'll look into it sooner or later, but I can't understand that anyone considers it to be a problem whether the counter loads or not. It's the last thing on the page, so everything else is there and you can just click on something or other to continue to the other pages.

Joe, I just had the same "hang up" on the counter. My computer showed "nothing" on the page to click on!

I solved my problem by clicking on "stop loading".. which worked just fine... then "everything to click on" suddenly appeared.

Those that see "nothing to click on" and don't know to click on "stop loading" will probably just give up and leave.

This will only be a problem for those members who are not familiar with computers.

Same here as well, seemed like everything on the page would load, but nothing would be visible. The page would be blank and just hang on the counter until I hit the stop button.

I dont think any of us think its a big deal, just something you should be aware of. If I was a person unfamiliar with computers or the web then I wouldnt know what to do.

Sorry, I didn't realize it was such a problem for some people. Is this a browser-dependent thing I wonder? I'm using MS IE 5, and for me pages are displayed "in real time", so the fact that the counter didn't load was of no importance.

Anyway, I've removed "TheCounter" for the moment, and am trying to find a similar one that works better.
