Message:   Posting pics on the Cindy and Joe club

From: Joe-CindyAndJoe     Sent: November 21, 1999     Message 1 of 7

The following notes are written based on the events of the last two weeks. First I kicked a member out of the club for having misused some of the Cindy pics. Now two couples who have posted pics here have removed them because of misuse or the fear of misuse.

I really hate this situation, because what Cindy and I want more than anything else in this club are ACTIVE members who participate in the discussions and post pictures.

But the basic problem is that this is the Internet, and one can assume that whatever you post here (or elsewhere) WILL be misused sooner or later, and there is very little anyone can do about it.

Changing the security rules for the Cindy and Joe club so that membership is required to see the pics might reduce the problem a bit, but it would not cure it. People who misuse private pics for personal gain will simply apply for club membership, claiming that they are active fisters, and there is no way that I can check up on this beforehand.

For example, the person that I kicked out a couple of weeks ago for misusing the Cindy pics did send me a new membership application using a different e-mail address. I happened to recognize this as one of the e-mail addresses that he had used on the news groups, so I exchanged some e-mails with him, and finally let him back in, after he promised to not use any pics without asking for permission first. The alternative was to assume that he would just create another new e-mail address and sneak back in that way.

To be continued - Excite does not allow more than 2000 characters in a message...

... continuation of above message.

Anyway, I can not guarantee that pics posted here will not be misused. On the contrary, I can practically guarantee that if pics posted here are very interesting, that they WILL be misused in one way or another.

Keeping this in mind, here are a couple of tips for members who would like to post their private pics here:

1. Ensure that there is nothing in the pic that will identify you. As well as blanking out faces check whether there is any special jewelry, furniture, paintings, etc. in the pic that should be blanked out.

2. Consider putting a copyright notice on the pics. This will both reduce the chances of misuse and will give you a strong case if you have to complain to the webmaster or ISP of any web site where your pics are being misused.

If you are looking for a program to use to edit pics with, I can recommend Paint Shop Pro from JASC, http://www.jasc.com

Yours,
Joe

Its not nice to steal pictures. And I cant suggest any safer method selecting members. But you should take it as very good criticism when your pics are stolen and used elsewhere. I would prefer to see faces as well as genitals ;-) but I know how it works on the internet. Pics are stolen all the time. But just blur the face and other things that would give you away. Its better to look at a blurred picture than not be eble to look at it at all *Smile* And its a good thing to put a copyrigt on it. That way its harder to use them the wrong way.

Hi Joe,
I am going to try to protect our pics with a copyright on and i could post some nice pics.
Thanks for your advices!
i've 2 solutions for my community:
1)I am going to apply a selection on my site too.
I would like to have a new system for members.
If members do not post one pic for one month,i will delete their subscription.
I 've now 61 members in my new community and no members pics posted!!and only a few comments!!
2)may-be i will delete my community if nothing will changes
What a pity ,our best results are our amateur trading with real and private amateurs!!
Yours
Steph.

Hi Stephane,

I have NOT deleted your photo album! I have no idea what has happened. It must be a glitch in Excite Clubs, but I have never seen or heard of this happening before!

Please recreate your photo album and repost the pics. I'm sure the members would appreciate that.

I'll report what has happened to Excite, although I doubt that will help much :-(

Yours,
Joe

I've just added a few photo's that we took an hour or so ago. I would appreciate very much if you just look at them and not distribute them. If I do see them around the net, I will certainly be more reluctant to post any more.
