Europeans
From: Emanuel Sent: 8 Aug. 2002 Message 1 of 5
First off I'd like to say hello to everyone.
I have a question that first must be preceded by a short story. My first time to Belgium me and my girflfriend ( now my wife and is Belgian, I'm a North American/USA ) decided to take a walk through the red light district and check out some of the adult stores. It was actually my girlfriend who pointed out a magazine with fisting on the cover. At that point I really don't think I knew what it was called ( fisting that is ) and I was in my early twenties ( looking back that seems so silly ). For all I know she didn't either. She didn't seem at all shocked ( unfortunately she later admitted that she found nothing erotic about it either ). So in light of that experience I ask; are Europeans more accepting in general to Fisting. I mean I have heard it generalized that Europeans have a much more open mind to sexual deviations ( if thats even a decent description to something like fisting ). I would especially be interested in hearing opinions of Europeans who have either spent a period of time abroad ( just not the states ) or now live somewhere besides Europe. Thanks.
Joe and cindy I hope you are having or have had a great time on vacation. Emanuel.

I'll give a short reply to this...
I think there is a more openness to sexuality in Europe. However, I do not think this should be confused with Europeans being more sexual or kinky if you will. We are all basically the same, and with the emergence of the WWW, I think we live in a more global community than ever before.
Now, specifically fisting... it turns out that the pornography industry (as well as many local communities) have a self-imposed ban on fisting. I can't give you exact details, but the ban came roughly after the movie "Candy Stripers" (great movie by the way). From my understanding, fisting was seen as forcefull, painful, and brutal. Even though in "Candy Stripers" the fisting scenes are anything but. It's simply an example of corporate america bending a little to appease the conservatives.
This ban/law was in fact challenged most recently. Seymore Butts put out a movie called "Tampa Tushy Fest" in which Alysha Klass fists Chloe. She even double fists her (great scenes). Seymore was taken to court by the city of L.A. (I believe). He agreed to edit the tape and pull the other from the shelves. I have no idea how many stores complied or if there were other repercussions.
You can, however, thank Chloe for trying to get fisting back into the mainstream. She is a sexy woman with a libido that won't quit and a pussy that can't get enough stuffed into it. She has put together a fisting video called "The Fist the whole fist and nothing but the fist" It features all women and is maybe an hour long. You can buy it at a few places on line.
There are other sexual acts that the industry and american society in general frowns upon. Other than freedom of choice and censorship, I think Americans and Europeans are just as sexual.

hmmm... this is a tricky one!
As a citizen of a long european country called Sweden I can tell you that, while fisting vids are very easy to get/rent/buy in a lot of adult vid-stores, there have been a few attempts to get fisting videos outlawed on the grounds that they are 'portrayals of violence'. It would, luckily, seem that the motion has been stayed for the time being though.
Other than that I agree with Soze. People are people. Some are afraid of anything outside the bible/koran/holy text x/parent's teachings while others have a more open mind-set.
Since Europe isn't one country, but still bunched together as if we were, we may have access to a wider set of different teachings and thus have to be more open to new ideas.
Jus' a thought...
nixoff
PS. Though I've seen a lot of double-fistings the one with Chloe must be one of the most erotic scenes I've ever seen! Wow!

Thank you for responding,
I have seen Tampa Bay Tushy Fest ( I find Alyssa irresistable and have rented just about every movie by Seymore with her in them ), and although its not my favorite Seymore movie ( Seymore Butts does Europe #1 & #2 are my favorites ) it definitley comes in the top three. The Fist/ the whole Fist was also excellent. Fortunatley for me a private adult store that rents adult movies near where I live has a fairly decent size selection of fisting movies for rent/sale ( mostly European, the few that have been US produced usually only have only a single fisting seen and even more oddly is the odd occasional video with US actors dubbed in German ). The city in which the owner of this store resides has tried to close the store down in the past with no luck. I guess the ordinances were loosley written and could be interpretted in more than one way. Regardless, the store is still open. To say that censorship in the states can be a little on the overbearing side is an understatement.
Maybe because the Puritans were the first to settle in the states is the reason for its prudeness. I wonder what its like in other countrys like Brazil, Japan, Australia, and Russia.
Thanks again, Emanuel.

Just to avoid any misunderstanding, Soze is talking about the porn industry in the United States. There's tons of fisting porn freely available in most of western Europe, the UK being an exception I think. (British members are welcome to correct me if I'm wrong.)
As for the question of sexual drives, Soze is presumably correct that the basic drives are the same for Europeans and Americans (and Canadians, etc.), and probably for all human races too, although I don't know of any scientific studies to support this supposition. It would be interesting to do a study, but perhaps also problematic, as shown by the controversy generated whenever anyone tries to compare the average "intelligence" (whatever that is) of various races.
On the other hand, I think that there are some very different attidudes to sex various places in the world, and that these different attitudes can determine which activities are considered "acceptable" and which are considered "unacceptable". I could try to expand on this line of thought, but I'm sitting at a PC in a public library and have a 30 minute time limit and am running the risk of insulting lots of people if I don't express myself very carefully, so I think I'll stop here for now. :-)
