Piercing Jewerly
From: bigmac57 Sent: 5 July 2002 Message 1 of 2
I know this maybe off topic of fisting but I know Cindy and alot of others have peirced genitals. My wife is considering getting pierced but am wondering how you insert and close ring type jewerly. Are there special pliers required? I've seen some rings with ball or bead and some rings without any visible joint. Any help or link to better site appreciated.

bigmac57,
The only kind of piercing jewelry I'm familiar with is what Cindy wears. These rings are called ball-closure rings. The idea is that you apply pressure to the insides of the ring, forcing the ends away from each other, and the ball falls out from between the ends of the ring. The ball itself has two dimples on it, so it is held in place between the ends of the ring.
To open the ring you need a tool to apply outwards pressure to the inside of the ring. This tool is like a pair of pliers, except that when you squeeze the handles the tips of the pliers move away from each other instead of going against each other. You can get "reverse pliers" like this at any hardware store. They are used for other purposes as well as applying pressure to the insides of piercing rings.
The size of the tool depends on the size of the ring. I have two of them, one for the small and medium size rings Cindy has, and a larger one for the large rings that Cindy only wears occasionally when we're taking pictures.
I'm not familiar with the other kind of rings you mention. I did a Google search for "piercing tools" and got about 3000 hits, including this one:

Hope this helps,
Joe
