Blood pressure cuff balloon question
From: joelle Sent: 11 Jan. 2002 Message 1 of 4
i just bought a cheap $20 blood pressure monitor kit (OMRON) so that i could try using the balloon as joe describes in the Zappaz section of the documents part of the club. I'm very disappointed in this cuff. 2 things make it unusable. 1st, it is put together with a seam, which runs around 3 sides of the cuff, instead of being all of one piece as i expected. when inflated the seam is sharp enough to cut or at least badly scrape delicate membraneous tissues. 2nd, it did not hold up under high pressure as the zappaz doc indicated it should. Indeed, it sprung a leak in it's first test and is now completely useless. So, my question is: does anyone have a cuff without seams? If so, what BRAND is the cuff, and where did you get it? Thanks in advance to whoever can answer this question, i'd really like to try something like this.

Hi Joelle,
The standard size balloons are definetly for very large vaginas and they have side seams. Unless the vagina is quite big and large enough and will easily stretch large enough that the moderately filled balloon becomes round _before_ much stretching is done (about 10 inches circumference), the seams will often be uncomfortable.
Usually this size balloon can only be used by those that _already_ are very large or stretch well. That is the reason most posts on this subject mention that bp balloons of the infant or possibly the child size balloons are the ones usually used by those without a very large or very elastic vagina.
I am sure some brands of blood pressure kits are different and may be defective. I have not seen a defective balloon, but have heard they exist. My personal purchase of bp devices was always of the major brand names and they always were very durable. Should anybody think about using one, the balloon should be removed from the hole in the cloth bag, and it should be tested before use. They should at least pump it outside the vagina to a circumference of about 22 or more inches circumference and then mash or sit on it... as a test of it's integrity. I once pumped a major brand balloon to almost beach ball size and sat on it without any leakage or bursting problem. Definitely they should not be used if there is any allergy to rubber or contraindication to vaginal stretching... or if their personal doctor is against them vaginal stretching.
Good wishes

thanks for the prompt reply and useful info. can you list some major brand names for me, some that you've tried? this was an Omron pressure kit, sold at a riteaid here in portland oregon. maybe it was just a fluke defect, maybe just shoddy QA at the factory (in china)... of course i tested before using and that's when the balloon failed, developing a leak at the seam. the pharmacy was happy to give me my money back. the vagina, and ass, in question, are quite large, though not super-sized like cindy. but past experience shows that any edges are something to be concerned about... do the seams smooth out if the balloon is tight enough? thanks again...

Joelle,
They will trade it back on another of the same brand. Hopefully it was just the one you bought that had a defective balloon. You should have been able to pump it to say 8 inches across and sit on it without it bursting. If the same thing happens on the next one... ask for your money back. Also, since the seams bothered you, this size may be too large a balloon for you.
The ideal thing would be if some rubber company would make a 'round' insertable ball attached to a long slender handle. It should be made in various sizes starting at about 2 inch diameter size (when barely inflated) depending on the size needed. It should be made of soft latex, so it would be capable of being pumped to very large size. This way, there would be no seams and it could be filled totally inside the vagina... which is ideal. Something like the inflatable mini-basketball that Cindy and Joe showed, but made of soft latex that will greatly expand, instead of the more rigid ball they used. A lonh handle for easy self insertion and for help getting it back out would be ideal.. The pumping hose would fit on the end of the long hollow handle instead of having to insert a needle like Cindy and Joe had to do. I am sure these will be made, as they would be simple to make, but rubber companies are slow to develop new toys. Possibly a medical supply company will make a model for use prescribed by those OB Doctors than allow their patients to prepare for delivery by stretching (unfortunately those would be expensive as all such prescription items are).
Right now, the closest thing to this is the smaller balloons from infant or child size bp cuffs, as they get rounder with increased size. Unless the vagina is extremely huge, the regular size bp balloons will not be round... even if pumped fully inserted inside a deep vagina (regular size requires 8.5 inches depth).
