... where the attached image originated? I believe the woman is a Japanese. Zap, do you think this is real or fake? Cukoo

Sorry members, I thought I could just attached it with a discussion. I've now uploaded the image to an album. Cukoo

From what I can tell, the picture has not been doctored. I am not the foremost expert on picture altering, and some people have fooled me before. But, from what I can see, that picture is genuine.

cukoo,

Saw the picture.. and it is certainly a real one.

This shows holding the back wall of the vagina toward the tailbone to open the vagina.

That method works well enough to do Pap Smears without using a vaginal speculum in about one lady in 3 or 4 in office practice. If the back wall does not stretch back very easily, then the speculum is used, but otherwise it is much more pleasant to have warm fingers holding the back wall down than using a cold metal speculum...LOL One hand holds 3 or 4 fingers on the lower vaginal rim, to gently let the back wall of the vagina stretch downward.. to open the vagina.. while other hand is used to get the Pap Smear.

Under an anesthetic the vagina relaxes more easily, and vaginal surgery is done with "weighted speculums" to do this same thing and hold the back wall down. These make the back wall of the vagina sink downward to open the vagina.. and this works well in most ladies. The mild metal weight in the handle of these heavy speculums over a minute or more can pull down the back wall of the vagina several inches.

If the lady has an easily relaxed vagina, sometimes even the largest width blade will sink down several inches.. allowing the side walls of the vagina to fall toward the midline of the opening.. and obstruct the operative view.

In more extreme cases the back wall will sink down quite a few inches and the weighted speculum can fall out.. into the operative metal bucket below it.. with a loud clang... LOL

In some of those type cases, the blade has stretched the vagina open all the way open.. right to the tail bone (the maximum possible front to back stretch of the pelvic opening).

The relatively small amount of opening shown in your picture is not unusual at all.. as the back wall is not anywhere near all the way back to the tailbone. :-)

Zappaz,1 is the weighted speculum also a way to stretch the vaginal opening without numbing it with medication? My wife is currently pregnant and wishes to have a natural delivery without vaginal tearing. Would this be a good way to stretch it out to accomidate this and other larger objects????
