Dry rough hands
From: sjcouple Sent: February 29, 2000 Message 1 of 7
I work with my hands. As a result they are dry, rough and callassed. I don't really have hang nails, but the edges (skin) of my nails tend to be very sharp. Does anyone have any suggestions, other than quitting my job, as to how I can improve my condition so it's actually pleasureable for my wife when I touch her pussy.
Thanks
S

Is it possible to wear gloves in your work? Another suggestion is to get periodic professional manicures.
Or invest in necessary tools (cuticle clipper, files, emery board, etc.) to keep your hands manicured.
Or wear latex gloves when playing with your wife.

Wearing gloves when you play with your wife seems to be the easiest option. When I worked construction NOTHING helped my hands - scratches, busted knuckles, callouses, and rough cuticles were a norm. Wearing gloves to work in wasn't always handy or possible, so wearing them to play made me very "handy" then.
Sometimes my hands would get so dry, cracked and rough my lover's juices would sting or burn a little. She made it known that it was NOT comfortable for her.
This is all "girly" stuff, but if you can get past the "girlyness" of it, it might help some. My lover would give me hand massages when she manicured me, soaking one hand in warm water and castile soap while she would massage and manicure the other. Then she'd oil my hands (vegetable oil - sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil - to keep the gloves from degrading) and I'd massage her from the inside.

This reminds me of an old joke. There was an American girl sitting alone at a sidewalk café in Paris. This French guy walks up and says something in French.
"Sorry, buddy, I'm not interested," says the girl.
"Ahh, the American tourist lady!" says the French guy. "I speak your language, I have visited your wonderful country! May I sit down?"
"Look, buddy, I know what you want, and I'm not interested. Just buzz off," says the girl.
"Oh, but you do not realize what wonderful lovers we Frenchmen are!" says the guy. "If you come to my appartement I will make the mad, passionate love to you all afternoon. I have very special techniques, like you have never experienced before!"
"No deal," says the girl. "I've been around and I've been screwed by guys from all over the world, and there ain't nothing you can do that I haven't already tried. Now just go away and leave me alone!"
"But I have the very, very special techniques," says the guy. "And as the plat de résistance, I will lick your belly button!"
"Lick my belly button!" says the girl. "Oh, good grief! Is that supposed to be so great? Anyway, I have had my belly button licked. It was no big deal!"
"From the inside?"

To sjcouple,
Hope you don't mind me throwing a joke in here - I'm not trying to indicate that your problem isn't serious. I just don't have any suggestions beyond what has already been posted.
Some people prefer to use latex gloves when they play, even if they don't have problems with dry, rough hands. Apparently some women prefer the feel of the gloves to skin. Cindy and I have tried it, and prefer to not use gloves.
Yours,
Joe

We've had problems with latex gloves sticking even when coated heavily with lubricant. Maybe we need to lookingto another type of glove. Any suggestions there?

Since so many people are allergic to latex, you could try getting some vinyl surgical gloves. Their fit is different from latex (they don't stretch as much) and they feel a little stiffer on your hands. Not all drug stores carry them, and those that do usually don't stock a full line of sizes.
Aside from that, have you tried changing brands of lube? Are you sure you're using enough? The rule I've always heard is if you think you're using enough, then you probably aren't and if you think you have too much, then you probably have just enough.
I always taste test a new lube. If it tastes bitter, unpleasant, or "odd", it may have ingredients that will irritate the skin. It's not a hard and fast rule, but it helps me rule out the ones I definately don't want to use on myself or someone else. And I give them a nose test. Fragrance isn't needed (that's NOT what I want to smell!) and that can irritate skin also.
But, aside from changing lubes and using more of it, I can't think of anything else. When well lubed with a water based lubricant, a latex or vinyl glove shouldn't stick.
