Does anybody know any problems with using Shortening (Crisco, Fluffo) as a lube for fisting? It is vegetable based, but I don't know if it has the same problems with latex as petroleum jelly and butter.

I find that for anal play regular sex lube tend to sting, but don't have this problem with Crisco. Is it the same for vaginal fisting?

All advice and comments are welcome.

Hi Wally88,

I've seen many recommendations for Crisco for anal fisting, but it is generally not recommended for vaginal fisting.

Cindy and I use a generic KY Jelly type of lubricant. It is water-based, which we consider to be better than oil-based lubes, because it water-based lubes are less irritating and less messy.

The best lube I have come across by far (and beleive me I tried 'em all!) is called "Liquid Silk" Its manufactured in the UK and available from this UK based website. (I don't have any interest in this product other than being a very satisfied customer)

I can recommend another product called "Maximus" from the same manufacturer (Body Wise). I love Liquid Silk as a general lubricant, but I find it to be not thick enough for fisting or anal sex.

Liquid Silk and Maximus are available in the U.S. through my favorite sex shops, Good Vibrations and Blowfish

Unfortuneatly, these two great lubes are not available at any ordinary "mass market" sex shops I've visited.
